All the Doctor's regenerations 1963 - 2010. * All footage taken from the original episodes (along with original audio) 1. William Hartnell - Patrick Troughton: The Tenth Planet, Part 4 (1966) * The First Doctor dies of old age / exhaustion due to the energy drain on the planet Mondas. 2. Patrick Troughton - Jon Pertwee: The War Games, Part 10 (1969) * The Second Doctor is exiled to Earth by the Time Lords and is forced to regenerate. 3. Jon Pertwee - Tom Baker: Planet Of The Spiders, Part 6 (1974) * The Third Doctor dies of radiation poisoning from the crystals of Metabelis Three. 4. Tom Baker - Peter Davison: Logopolis, Part 4 (1981) * The Fourth Doctor falls from the Pharos Project radio telescope and merges with the Watcher. 5. Peter Davison - Colin Baker: The Caves Of Androzani, Part 4 (1984) * The Fifth Doctor dies of spectrox toxaemia exposure on Androzani Minor. 6. Colin Baker - Sylvester McCoy: Time And The Rani, Part 1 (1987) * The Sixth Doctor regenerates when the Rani shoots down the TARDIS. 7. Sylvester McCoy - Paul McGann: Doctor Who: The Movie (1996) * The Seventh Doctor is shot by a gang member, then dies while being operated on in hospital. 8. Paul McGann - Christopher Eccleston: No official regeneration exists. (This video features a fanmade regeneration created by Mulett.) * The Eighth Doctor's reason for regenerating is unknown. 9. Christopher Eccleston - David Tennant: The Parting Of The Ways (2005) * The Ninth Doctor dies of cellular degeneration caused by absorbing the energies of the Time Vortex. 10. David Tennant - Matt Smith: The End Of Time, Part 2 (2010) * The Tenth Doctor dies of radiation poisoning caused by the faulting power supply of the Immortality Gate. TRIVIA: * The Doctor can regenerate two more times for a total of 12 regenerations (and 13 incarnations of the Doctor) according to Doctor Who mythology. * The Second Doctor was never seen to actually change into the Third, simply fading off into darkness at the end of 'The War Games' (1969) and then stumbling out of the TARDIS, already regenerated, at the start of 'Spearhead From Space' (1970). Both scenes are included in this video. * Colin Baker declined to appear in his regeneration scene after being fired by the BBC, so the regeneration in 'Time And The Rani' (1987) features Sylvester McCoy in a blond wig regenerating into the Seventh Doctor. * No official regeneration of Paul McGann into Christopher Eccleston exists. Nine years had passed between the 1996 TV movie & the 2005 series, and producer Russell T Davies felt that beginning the 2005 series with a regeneration would be too confusing for new viewers. (My thanks to Mulett for creating the McGann to Eccleston regeneration seen in this video.) * In 'The Stolen Earth / Journey's End' (2008) the Tenth Doctor partially-regenerates after being shot by a Dalek, but aborts the regeneration by redirecting the energy to his severed hand. It has never been officially stated whether this used up a regeneration or not (See it in my video "Regeneration 2 - New Beginnings.") * The BBC's Doctor Who FAQ suggests that now the Time Lords are gone, the Doctor may be able to circumvent the limit on regenerations; it says: "Now that his people are gone, who knows? Time Lords used to have 13 lives." * Intro/Outro Theme: Möbius by Floorten. http://whomix.windbubbles.net/remix/41 * The music over the McGann - Eccleston regeneration is called 'The Doctor's Theme (Pappenheim Remix)' by Murray Gold. May 27, 2012 - I love that David Tennant got his role as the Doctor after being a huge fan for so many years. It's one of the best stories ever
EDgaming1000 Says:
May 27, 2012 - No, his memories and the things he believes in will stay the same.
EedieG Says:
May 27, 2012 - I was always confused with this... After the doctor has regenerated, does he forget everything that previously happens in his other body... So when he regenerate ti Matt smith did he forgot about rose Tyler? Please reply if you know the answer
starfox991 Says:
May 27, 2012 - LONG LIVE THE DOCTOR!
Darkbat53t Says:
May 26, 2012 - have you never seen the vintage episode "five Doctors"? five generations in a single episode, they could easily write Tennant in for 1 more story. wouldn't be the first time the Doctor's encountered past versions of himself
AgowTisro Says:
May 26, 2012 - I have to say, I think Matt Smith is probably my favourite Doctor. Wasn't a huge fan of Eccleston.
hombad26 Says:
May 26, 2012 - Except in that the Doctors were taken out of time by the villain.
JVitolo Says:
May 26, 2012 - They could do a story where the Matt Smith's Doctor is in trouble and he sends his companion to get help. So the Companion goes out and gets help...from Eccelston's 9 and Tennant's 10. Kind of like what they did with the 5 Doctors special in the original run.

May 26, 2012 - may the doctor live forever. please give this thumbs up.
dragon270972 Says:
May 26, 2012 - I hope the next one doesn't take to long 'cos Matt Smith is the worse Doctor EVER.
hombad26 Says:
May 26, 2012 - If by "epic" you mean "complete fanwank rubbish"
KageTilFolket Says:
May 26, 2012 - The scene with Tennant makes me cry.
lydia alouani Says:
May 26, 2012 - i love the tenth and eleventh doctor but i wish there wass at least another season with the ninth doctor and maybe jack and rose should come back for at least one episode
KageTilFolket Says:
May 26, 2012 - I cried, when number ten left, but I see the doctor in Matt Smith as well. I just feel sad, number nine, wasn't that sad When number ten he said he didn't wanted to go, I almost cried my eyes out.
DackxJaniels Says:
May 26, 2012 - I love it when Matt squeaks "I'm a girl!"
bradtown559 Says:
May 26, 2012 - THE REASON PEOPLE DIDNT LIKE HIM AT FIRST IS BECAUSE PEOPLE WERE SAD BECAUSE OF TENNANTS REGENERATION AND ALSO HE TRIED ALOT TO BE LIKE TENNANT BUT HE SOON JUST BECAME HIMSELF:)
bradtown559 Says:
May 26, 2012 - well there is actually one way they could bring tennant back but 1 he wont be the doctor and 2 theres no way to really open the rift to the parrarel universe but they could bring him back as roses boyfriend from series 4 when he stops with rose he could like come back and help !! :) that would be the most epic doctor who EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DavidLeeTurner1 Says:
May 26, 2012 - I can't imagine matt smith regenerating, but of course I said the same thing about tennant, and I also said the same about eccleston and look what happened
dreiner123456 Says:
May 26, 2012 - David remains my favorite doctor so far, and ill admit, when he first started i couldnt stand matt smith, but he's really come into his own as the doctor throughout his time on the show and now, while he's not my favorite, im glad he got his turn. he does a very good "angry doctor".
Kuruttra Says:
May 26, 2012 - I dont get it How People go on with 'Bring Tennant back'... Sure he was my Favourite aswell but dang he is gone now, axcept it. How could they possibly explain a Return without making the Story stupid? Its just not Possible and bringing him back as the next Doctor wont work even if they chamnge his looks he would have to act different and that wouldnt be the David Tennant we liked so much. Matt Smith is no Ten but cool in his Way "Bow Ties are Cool." "Fezes are cool." I love it ^^
myers90155 Says:
May 26, 2012 - IM STILL NOT GINGER!
AskingAlexandriaEpic Says:
May 26, 2012 - I think the fact he had such a short role gave his presence mystery (even more mysteriousness than his character). Looking back on his part I can't help but think what a brilliant re-vamp it was.
AskingAlexandriaEpic Says:
May 26, 2012 - Me too I've always wondered how they would do that haha.
AskingAlexandriaEpic Says:
May 26, 2012 - I don't know I thought his "I don't want to go" speech towards the end gave his character depth and obviously gave an emotional impact.
