May 26, 2012 - Call me a bitch, but I cried in the last 10 minutes of the movie. There was just so much going on, Leo having to let go of his wife, the father-son scene, seeing saito as an old man, then Leo reuniting with his kids.... Powerful stuff, and well put together and it couldn't have been the same without Mr. Zimmer's music.
May 26, 2012 - Simplicity rules. As a musician, it's so easy to try to over-complicate your music, add in a thousand pieces to make it complex and unique. But as Mr. Zimmer so clearly demonstrates here, a few carefully selected notes, played in perfect harmony...can change your world.
May 26, 2012 - Is that Johnny Marr on the guitar? I read he collaborated with Zimmer on this soundtrack, even though it's four notes it really 'punctuates' it.

A man is a man when it counts: when he reaches crossroads and has to make the right choice no matter what price he has to pay; carrying more than his share of burden and never complaining; taking it all and never breaking his stride.
Shedding some tears while listening to a sad song does not less of such a man make.
