May 27, 2012 - I don't think that documentary film is really reliable. As evergreenMC has already stated, Bob Marley didn't have his toe amputated. The doctors advised him to do it but he declined because it went against his Rastafarian beliefs. And the strain of cancer he got is called Acral Lentiginous Melanoma it typically affects Black people, but as all cancers it can affect Whites, Hispanics, dogs, etc. Ultimately, the malignant melanoma spread to his lungs and brain and he died in Miami on May 11, 1981.

He was half black, his dad died of a heart attack when he was 10, not any "white person cancer". A Bible verse that Rastafarians hold as very important is Leviticus 21:5 - "They shall not make baldness upon their head, neither shall they shave off the corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in the flesh." May 26, 2012 - Ive just seen Marley the documentary film of his life, he had part of his toe amputated, they showed his foot bandaged up after the operation, it wasnt nothing to do with his rasta beliefs, he was worried he wouldnt be able to dance on stage with all of his big toe missing, the reason the cancer spread was due to the fact he wouldnt go for check ups, & the cancer he had only effects white people, his dad was white, watch the film, its 2 & a half hours of brilliance
