May 11, 2012 - I believe in the kingdom come, when all the colours will bleed into one. "U2's verse". Colour-Correlator, Helping your children's education!, children can store all their references from all their books, documents and from the internet and retrieve any of their references from this new app instantly, so they can have all their "studied" work with them, always at their finger tips and here's the link. Helping children for life.

May 10, 2012 - Privilege? Bull shit. It's a necessity is you want to live in this world, and even then it's only going to get you so far. Why do you go to university, think about it.

Apr 27, 2012 - 200 contributors is actually a small sample when generalizing about such a large group of people. It isn't necessarily representative of said group. In my experience, those kinds of "facts" were only true of 100 and 200 level classes, mostly full of freshman and sophomores who had yet to declare a major or enter a department. Most of my peers at University of Washington became much more focused and dedicated once they entered their major department and started taking non-survey classes.

Apr 26, 2012 - yes, our education system is seriously flawed. i blame the students most of the time, my fellow students, sadly. man up, get over yourselves, and starting caring about your education. you don't have to partake it in if you do not like it but get out of my way and let me make sure my professors know my name, because that is my job, so that i get the education i deserve based on the effort i put in.

Apr 7, 2012 - I agree with many of you that education should be individualized and catered towards your career goals, but that only goes so far since school is a place where these aspirations are nurtured. However, once we get to college, most of us have an idea of what we want to be and just need the steps to get there, so how does a lecture hall and its informal structure help a student in the real world? It doesn't and is just the University's way of cramming a class to make room for paying students.

Curtis Budka Says:

Apr 2, 2012 - im guessing many of these people want to learn ONLY what they need to learn for their desired career. there is virtually no point in studying how Shakespeare developed his style when you want to teach calculus. if these people are complaining about the quality of their education, did you ever stop to think that there is a possibility that maybe it actually is pathetic instead of saying "shut up, learn this because it helps you because I said so" ?

Mar 29, 2012 - Members of the free world? I don't understand which world you're talking about. It doesn't matter whether millions or even billions would give a lot for an education when the education will be useless once it's supposed to be put into practice.

Cacaw1 Says:

Mar 29, 2012 - Sounds like you are swept up with the mentality of entitlement. I don't understand why it's so complicated - if you're not interested in the subject matter, then don't go. Don't sit there spending tens of thousands and then complain that you're bored! Fine, if you're bored, go do something else! That is your freedom and your privelege as a member of the free world. Millions of people around the world would give their left testicle for a primary education, never mind a university degree!

Watchdawg Says:

Mar 29, 2012 - Don't blame Apple, they're just selling their products. It's like blaming your mom that she made the cookies that some kid ate and got fat from. It's the teachers that needs to learn how to adjust to the new world.

Watchdawg Says:

Mar 29, 2012 - How can you know yourself? You're talking just as if our state of mind is static. You don't believe in change?

Watchdawg Says:

Mar 29, 2012 - You choose to write "you're" instead of "your." No wait, you didn't? Well, that's reality my friend, people are inherently ignorant. Most of the things that you make decisions with, are based on pure conditioning.

Watchdawg Says:

Mar 29, 2012 - Typical state believing mentality. The problem is not that the students bring their laptops, but because laptops are more interesting than the studies. Students shouldn't sit in class like a bunch of braindeads just taking in what the teachers say. Sounds to me like you've been subjected to the whip for a long time. Grow up and adjust to the real world!
