The BBC License fee covers BBC services in the UK only, since BBC Worldwide, BBC America and other BBC companies are not UK companies the license fee doesn't go to them they get their money from the advertisements

Apr 21, 2012 - And no this isn't just a case of some random dude uploading some copyrighted material, nothing wrong with that at all. If the BBC had a problem with that they'd ask him to remove it. Fact remains that he emailed them about it, they were fine to let him use it and also generate revenue from attached adverts. Not a big deal, but like I said it is an illegal breach of contract on the part of the BBC.

Apr 21, 2012 - Well the BBC show their stuff in a bunch of places, doesn't make it legal. Controversially they sold some of their programming to be shown in America and Canada, which broadcast product ads during the break. So what you have is the GBP paying for the Americans and Canadians to watch whales shagging and wonderful things like that. Like I said, no BBC broadcast wherever it is shown, can legally be accompanied by advertisements. But this is civil law, which benefits corporations over customers.

Apr 21, 2012 - I'm not sure if you understood my comment properly or not, the BBC states in their license agreement that they won't use advertising because 100% of their funding is gotten through the license fee. The only thing they're legally allowed to advertise is their own programming.

I would love to live in a world where I can watch and put up someone elses video on my channel for an innocent reason without hassle, but unfortunately the world isnt all sunshine and daisy duke sucking my cock every morning. The adverts are there for a valid reason unfortunately (do not use adblock to block out these adverts on youtube and other websites cough)
