May 27, 2012 - Ok sport since you obviously don't know anything, let me fill you in. Phil when he wrote this song, he genuinly did not know the meaning or the story behind the lyrics. The person drowning is symbolic for the sadness he felt after his wife left him. And this was the song (I believe) his message to her stating that he was done trying to get her back and he was going to move on.
