Sep 15, 2011 - because as the wax is cooling it dissapates into the atmosphere. therefore the molecules which make up the wax are spreading apart as it goes away from the source. A bit like if you sprayed some air freshner, you smell it for a bit, then it dissapates and fills the whole room up.
