May 26, 2012 - Not trying to be a troll, but why is everyone bragging about listening to older bands at young ages? Good music is good music; who cares what audience they're attracting? And would people stop comparing them to Tool? They'd have so many more fans if people didn't think Pete is trying to sound like Maynard. Really the only slight similarities are they both have kind of monotone voices and Chevelle throws in the occasional offbeat. Otherwise Chevelle actually has more variety in their sound. (IMO)
May 24, 2012 - Yeah when I was like 9-13 Nirvana, Mudhoney, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Foo Fighters (early), Hole, Janes Addiction, Butthole Surfers, Candlebox, Alice in Chains (WITH LAYNE, God bless his soul..), The Breeders, Harvey Danger, NIN (early..like BROKEN early), Stone Temple Pilots, Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids, Jack off Jill, Days of the New, etc..that was part of my collection in Middle School. Still love most of these today or thier modern incarnations.
May 24, 2012 - hell it' sounds nothing like tool, the vocal style is similar, but Tool music Is complex and brings in deep themes. This is Nothing like tools style
