ABCNews24 (Australia) loves technical glitches and bloopers. This time, Ticky Fullerton of "The Business" doesn't realise she is gargling live on air, a fragment of a report is played with a few background coughs before audio dies, back to Ticky and a few sips of water, a little more gargling and tidy ups, then a frozen frame and a few repeats of the animated intro and finally it all kicks in as expected - Grece bailout... Typical work from The Hub! Lame, I know, but someone has to try embarrassing them from time to time, even if that is nearly impossible. The station management is smug and yet stupid, they keep messing up their programming ever since the introduction of digital multichannel. E.g. the 24 hour news channel (mostly repeats of earlier programs) is the only one which is broadcasts in HD, but these days real news footage is mostly shot on mobile phones. Three channels out of four show content for kiddies, ABC Kids exclusively so far. Recently the channel dedicated to youth audience started to show old B&W movies, just like the main always did. But, the latest change is one hour of music video clips at 3am on the main channel replacing some of the oldies. Make sense of that, my elderly neighbour can't and he used to love staying up all night watching movies from his heydays. Mar 3, 2012 - Amazing. This has to take the Guinness Record for "Longest Sequence of Amateurish Screwups By A Supposedly Big-Time Network". I've heard longer messes from small-town radio stations that run on auto-pilot all day, but never from any TV station or network of any size!

Mar 3, 2012 - this also happened to an overnight lateline repeat last year. they started the record from too early showing tony jones preparing for tne show until it finally starts.

Feb 24, 2012 - Yup, these guys are special, since the upgrade to a new central media hub anything can happen and it does. The radio division is either a close second or even better, the news reports play wrong sound files (not matching the intro) at least 10 times a week. I have a feeling that it takes more than bragging about awards when it comes to hiring system design people.
