May 26, 2012 - And I do think he's worth some recognition. He wasn't well prepared to live in Alaska that's true, but he did what many of us wouldn't even dare to dream. We should respect him for his courage to think outside the box and be true to his ideals. It probably isn't nice to die of starvation, but I like to believe that he was happy living his dream and being free. His last picture, a self-portrait, shows him with a farewell note accepting his fate and a smile on his face.

May 26, 2012 - I don't believe it was suicide. As Jon Krakauer says on the book, setting as an example his own near death experience, when we're young we never believe that something bad is going to happen to us or that we're going to die soon. That's a naive thought, especially when you're about to live in the nature. But that's what happened with Chris, he was just too confident that we would make it and he almost did, if it wasn't for some key mistakes.

May 25, 2012 - Actually the movie shows him rounding the money down to either $24,000 or $25,000 - I don't remember but something like that, and he had about $500 and some change left that he took with. But in the desert he burned it and left it with his car.

May 17, 2012 - mah dude i know he went back out to south dakota a few time's beut when he was on the road it said that he was in bullhead city for 2 year's where he got fired from mcdonald's for not wanting to wear sock's... he lived in ft mohove im pretty sure. and if i rember right he had been givven a lil herb and decided to smoke it when he was camping out and it was cold and he smoked and read and then got the munchie's and tried to cook some top ramen in his tent and burnt a hole in it and ate it cold..
