Feb 14, 2012 - My results came back in about two weeks, but it all depens on your doctor and your hospital. I am registered at pretty big hospitals that treat A LOT of patients, so it took a while to get back to me. It all depends. I woudn't worry though. If you worry and you have nothing, you'll be worrying for nothing. If you worry and you do have a little something, then you're taking your energy away fixing the problem and it will help nothing. I'll ne praying for ya.

Feb 14, 2012 - Hi leenstarsx3! My echocardiogram went pretty well. It can be scary if you're not used to hospitals and stuff, but it's really not bad or scary at all. Actually, a lot of people are born with murmurs, just depends on what kind it is. I've had a few Echos and EKGs and most of them have come out alright. My murmur was acting up at the time I had my echo because I was recovering from Pneumonia and it made my mumur really loud.

Jan 26, 2012 - This test is a piece of cake. If you are a female it may get a bit sensitive, but they are professionals who will keep you covered up as much as they can. They do turn the light off most of the time. I have had this test over 10 times in my lifetime. You are awake during this procedure. After you will have the goopy gel on you, They will give you a towel to clean yourself up. They might allow you to bring a friend with you into the room if they are quiet!

Jun 7, 2011 - To all of the girls out there; You do need to take everything off from the waist up! But don't worry, you can request to have a towel to at least cover yourself. My doctor was thankfully very careful not to make me feel over-exposed. The only 'pain' you will feel is from the pressure of the probe. Do not worry about getting this done.

Dec 29, 2010 - It's riveting to see your own heart on the monitor screen, to hear the steady thump, thump, and the loud swishing sound. It's awesome when you consider that a heart can pump for as long as 95 to 100 years. It's also a sobering reminder that one day, your heart will stop beating forever. Have a nice day! :)

Sep 18, 2010 - I just had my echo a couple of days ago. It doesn't hurt really. The gel can be cold, but if you go to a really cool hospital, sometimes they warm the gel for you and that actually feels pretty nice. I'm waiting for results because I was born with a heart murmur and it was pretty loud when my doc heard it through steth. Don't worry though. It's usually over in like 30 min. or so and it really doesn't hurt. P.S. you do have to take off your bra though.
