Answer to the spinning tube question
This is made with Google SketchUp 3D drawing CAD program (check it out, it is really simple and royally free). The add on that animates/interacts these 3D objects is "Sketchy Physics" (also free). It allows to make a simple physical interaction simulations and the use of motors, servos hinges etc...
